These crazy quilts were the Victorian version of keeping up with the Joneses, apparently.These women would embroider, paint and embellish these quilts to no end, in an effort to outdo one another. Each quilt was judged on it's design, amount of embellishment, graphics and ingenuity.... Here's a great site for inspiration if you have an extra 4,000 hours and want to get started on your own.
